Whenever I travel somewhere new, I like to study up on the history of the place I'm visiting. If I am rushed, it will be a cursory browse through a guide book and a couple of quick internet searches. When I have more time, I might order something from The Teaching Company, like when we went to Egypt. (Bob Brier rocks, by the way!) Or I might do it while in the country. For example, now that we live in Ireland, I've had time to listen to the BBC Radio series, A Short History of Ireland.
Although I have been to England 3 times, I never made it to Stonehenge. I'm glad that I can now do some research in advance of my next visit so that I'll be fully educated and prepared. And by one of my favorite musicians!
Here now, is Nigel Tufnel of the band Spinal Tap, explaining all you need to know about Stonehenge.
(It's a shame it doesn't go to eleven.)
…and there you have it. All you ever wanted or needed to know about Stonehenge! Thank you, Nigel. You rock so hard.
